Alex and Zoe

Alex and his partner Zoe were tired of searching for an established home to make their own, so they decided to take matters into their own hands and build their first home.

As a subcontractor for Plunkett Homes, Alex was familiar with their quality and workmanship, so they were confident about the build.

“The main reason we decided to build with Plunkett Homes, was because Alex does gyprock for them in the great southern region,” Zoe said.

“Being familiar with their processes, supervisors and the high standard of workmanship, we never considered building with anyone else.”

Both from Albany, Western Australia, Zoe and Alex were excited to find a parcel of land in Gledhow, close to all amenities and only 10 minutes out of town. One of the most exciting things for the couple is the area they built in. With lots of young people and families moving in, they are thrilled to be a part of a developing community.

Working within their budget was important to them but Alex and Zoe were able to build a home with everything they wanted, including his and hers walk-in-robes, a spacious pantry and high ceilings.

The couple knew that the kitchen and living area were the heart of the home, so they made sure to get those areas just right. They wanted a spacious layout to make the home feel open and welcoming.

As this was all foreign to them, they weren’t sure whether they were headed in the right direction with their colour selections or product finishes, “but we had great people guiding and helping us along the way. Everyone we dealt with in the Albany office was so helpful and amazing.”

Admittedly, Zoe says building during a boom was a long process but they are delighted with the end result! Building with Plunkett Homes gave them the flexibility to build a home suited for their needs, without having to compromise.

Overall, building their own home was a rewarding experience that allowed them to create the perfect space for their needs and lifestyle.

Alex and Zoe are loving their new home and can’t wait to make many happy memories in it!
