Lakelands

Lakelands is the northernmost suburb of the city of Mandurah and approximately 65 kilometres south from the Perth CBD. The suburb is bordered by Meadow Springs to the South, Singleton to the North and Madora Bay and breathtaking beaches to the West. The eastern side is bounded by Mandjoorgoordap Road and the Mandurah railway line passes through the suburb.

A drive to the Perth CBD will take roughly 45 minutes down the Kwinana Freeway. For public transport, residents can use the Mandurah railway line, boarding at Rockingham which will take them all the way into the CBD in under one hour. It’s about a 10-minute drive to Mandurah Train Station, however land has been reserved for a future Lakelands railway station, which is currently under construction and due to open in 2023, which will provide a more convenient option for travelling.

The Lakelands Estate developed by Peet Limited is nestled between the stunning Indian Ocean and two beautiful natural lakes. Black Swan Lake – is a stunning landscaped park with outdoor gym equipment, plenty of wildlife and native vegetation, a themed play equipment for kids of all ages, walking trails and pocket parks throughout. For tertiary education there are two university campuses located in Rockingham – Murdoch University and the Challenger Institute of Technology. For childcare, residents have access to Nido Early Learning in the town centre.

The population of Lakelands is 6,155 with a density of 892 persons per square km. Of the families in Lakelands, 48.9% were couples with children, 35.5% were couples without children and 14.4% were one parent families.

Annual growth of the suburb is sitting at 11.4%. Based on settled sales as of 27 June 2022, the median land price in the suburb is $162,000 (reiwa.com.au).
