Mullaloo is approximately 25 kilometers from the Perth CBD and falls within the City of Joondalup government area. It was first recorded in 1919 as Moolalloo Point, but the spelling was later changed to Mullaloo.

Mullaloo is the perfect location if you love the beach, with the bonus of the city being only 25km away. Jump on the Mitchell Freeway, and you’ll hit the city in under half an hour, or if you prefer to catch public transport, buses to Whitford Station are frequent where the Joondalup train line will get you straight into the CBD in under 40 minutes.

This gorgeous northern coastal suburb has stretches of uninterrupted beachfront where you won’t have to fight for the best spot on the sand! Mullaloo beach is an institution for locals. Head to the Beach Lookout to see for yourself why it’s so loved by locals and grab a drink at Mullaloo Beach Hotel while you’re at it! Other popular beachside spots nearby are Pinnaroo Point, Whitfords Beach, and Hillarys Dog Beach if you have a furry friend.

With no shortage of beautiful parks and beachside paths to follow, there’s plenty of grassy spots to sit and relax, and exciting playgrounds for the kids. Make sure you check out the redeveloped Tom Simpson Park Playground. It’s located right on the Mullaloo Beach Foreshore overlooking the ocean with coffee and dining just a short stroll away. The playground is dominated by nature-based play and a large wooden fort. It’s a great park with picnic shelters, plenty of bbqs, a water fountain and toilets.
