Osborne Park is approximately 8 kilometers north from the Perth CBD and is located within the City of Stirling. Osborne Park became a residential suburb after World War II, but by the 1980s, it was predominantly an industrial area, with only the north-eastern area still residential. Homes in this suburb are generally single detached brick and tile dwellings, with many character homes throughout the area. Unit and apartment dwellings are a more recent addition to the suburb, becoming more common as the suburb develops.
In terms of public transport, the Glendalough train station along the Joondalup line is most convenient, where many local bus services arrive and depart from. To get into the city via train, it’s only two stops down the Joondalup line and within six minutes you’ll arrive at the Perth Underground. If you prefer to drive, the CBD is a 10 to 15-minute drive via Scarborough Beach Road.
With a perfect mix of residential and industrial, the area gives you the divide between suburban living and commercial opportunities with an array of showrooms, retail outlets and offices all within range. Small businesses as well as larger retailers such as Harvey Norman, Officeworks, JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys are easily accessible. It is also home to the largest car yard precinct in Australia!
The lively main strip, so aptly named Main Street, is home to an abundance of multicultural cuisines with some lovely restaurants, cafes and bars. You’ll also be close to many shopping centres and other amenities. Westfield Innaloo is under 10 minutes away, and Event Cinemas is right next door. IKEA in Innaloo is only a 5-minute drive.
If beautiful parks and reserves are what’s important, then look no further. Osborne Park shares a border with the incredible Herdsman Lake, where people come from all over Perth to walk, run, and relax at this spot. There is also the Stirling Civic Gardens which is home to beautiful gardens, a lake, a pedestrian path network, a sail-shaded playground and public toilets, making it a perfect location for families. If the sun, sand and surf are more your thing, you’ll be happy to know that Scarborough Beach and City Beach are a short 15-minute drive.
The local school is Osborne Primary School, and just outside the borders are Mount Hawthorn Primary School and Servite College. Nearby options include Newman College, Churchlands Senior High School and St Dominic’s Catholic Primary School.
The population of Osborne Park is 4,047 with a density of 794 persons per square km. Independent youth make up the majority of the population at 34.4%, followed by maturing and established independence at 23.1%.
Annual growth of the suburb is sitting at 0.9%. Based on settled sales as of 7 March 2022, the median land price in the suburb is $470,000 (reiwa.com.au).
